I have enjoyed your reporting in what is now a dire political moment, and dangerous for us all. I wonder why you don’t reference the other media outlets the podcasts and so on that Trump used to teach a different less visible younger audience.

It is what it is. But worse.

The American "people" have not yet spoken.

A large cult and a confused nation have spoken.

We have now to await the fuiture with a fully Republican Congress, House & Senate.

A conservative SCOTUS with Trump appointing as many as three new members.

A very treacherous road with a mad driver and No Guardrails.

America can use a Strongbow Cider for its tummy.

G'day.

So right about not calling out the lie. I kept saying the same to Andy by husband “Why don’t they say, that is a lie?!!” I was very optimistic too that Kamala had it, I thought her campaign was good but too short. I blame Biden for many of the problems of the last two years. He just has not been there for much of it. Ukraine, especially has been left in a dire position by not allowing them to fire into Russia long ago. On the economy Biden has been good. Now I can see Israel being allowed to send in settlers to Gaza so all the Arab Americans who voted Green to teach the Democratic’s a lesson will soon see the folly of their vote I believe.

"But going back to the lie. Why was it allowed to persist? After the mob Trump incited trashed the Capitol on January 6th why wasn’t that an end of it? Why wasn’t Trump barred from holding office again? Why was he allowed to act as if he was still in office by conducting an alternate foreign policy from Mar a Lago?"

For me Michael, this statement says it all. Especially that he was allowed to run again. If he had been convicted in the 2nd impeachment at least one problem might have been dealt with. There is plenty that has been broken in this democracy that has never been addressed. Under it all in the roots is the White supremacy, deep racism, a strange pragmatism that has equated national interests with business interests, the stock market, and profits. Of course it is even more complex than that. When you have white people chanting "____ shall not replace us", that seems to me to say everything. When Kelly Ann Conway announced practically her first day before the cameras in 2017 that there ARE "alternative facts" the situation was laid out clearly. Who knows how anything will unfold? Actually no one can say. We who believe in the promise of democracy must not give up, give in, or leave the field of struggle. Despite everything we must remain steadfast, neither give in to fears nor lose hope.
